MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF STRESS & ANXIETY

Like most people in our busy world today, I find myself constantly running around for work, after children, doing chores and volunteering my time for others.

I often feel overwhelmed, stressed and anxious with the busyness of my life. I’m also a single mum so I carry the full responsibility of running a home and paying all the bills on my own as well. Sometimes all of this can get on top of me.

I find saying no very difficult and so I take on too much and I feel guilty if I sit still because there’s always something I feel I need to do!

Since I was young, I have always had what I’d describe as minor OCD tendencies and a touch of anxiety. As I’ve gotten older, and with experience, I have learnt how to manage my stress and anxiety.

WHAT SELF CARE REALLY MEANS TO ME

Self-care is fundamental to my mental health and wellbeing but for me that doesn’t mean a spa day but prioritising the things that make me happy like exercise classes, social time with friends and dancing. Things that I find stress busting and lift my spirits.

I’ve learnt that the housework can wait and it’s only ME putting the pressure on ME to do it!

I have always enjoyed quiet time on my own so becoming single recently isn’t an issue for me and in fact I have learnt to really appreciate solitary time when my children go to their dads. I love reading, listening to music, gardening, walking and I am definitely re-educating myself to feel less guilty about watching a film with the feet up!

HOW FINDHORN FLOWER ESSENCES HAVE HELPED ME

Sometimes I need a little extra support which is when I find myself subconsciously spraying my workspace or bedroom with Calm Me Down Mist. It contains pure essential oils of Vanilla, Labdanum and Lavender which I feel surrounds me with calming scents and vibrations and really helps me relax.
